My pathway to consultancy was preordained - due to both my choice of area of study and the real-world subject of my graduate thesis (restructuring the maintenance of an automotive supplier). I've also tried a few years of self-employment in Spain and Germany. However, as my learning curve flattened out, the way ahead became clear. After a stint in a Berlin consulting firm, and further insights into the automotive industry, I heard about SMP. Once I had gotten on board as a consultant, it was a rapid climb to the next level. Right from day one, I was part of a great team and worked directly on the premises of a customer in the energy industry.

Even if career decisions shouldn't be based on outward appearances, I couldn't entirely ignore them. The first time I set foot inside the 19th-century villa that acts as the office building, it was clear to me that SMP is different from other consultancies. My guess that this factor also influenced other colleagues was more than confirmed subsequently. However, it goes without saying that the exciting strategic projects for demanding customers are no less important.

I use initiative while keeping the team constantly in view and getting the maximum from each individual. This is coupled with a wealth of knowledge as well as curiosity - about everything, not just everyday business matters. Added to this is a trace of inner calm and balance. Think positive.
